Tile Restore

Grouting that fills every joint evenly and cleans up crisp

New tiling needs grout, and so do the gaps where it has gone missing. We pack the joints fully, tool them to a consistent depth and clean up so the tiles are the focus.

Grout does more than look tidy. It stops tile edges chipping, keeps dirt and water out of the joint and helps the surface behave as one piece. Joints packed too lightly, or left with voids, are the first place a floor starts to fail.

This service is for adding grout where it is needed: finishing new tiling, filling missing sections and topping up joints that were never fully packed. If old grout has failed along whole lines, regrouting is the better fit.

What this covers

  • Grouting new tiling

Full-depth packing, consistent joint width and a cleaned-down finish on floors and walls.

  • Filling gaps and missing sections

We clean out the gap, then fill it so it reads as a continuous line.

  • Colour matching

We work through colour options with you and test on an off-cut or hidden joint where we can.

  • Epoxy grout for tougher spots

For wet areas and heavily used surfaces we can use epoxy grout, which resists stains and water better than cement grout.

How the job runs

  1. 1

    Check the joints

We confirm the adhesive has cured and the joints are clean, even and free of dust or spacers.

  2. 2

    Choose the grout

Colour, type and joint width are agreed with you before any grout is mixed.

  3. 3

    Pack and tool

Grout is worked into each joint to full depth, then tooled so lines are consistent.

  4. 4

    Clean back

Excess is wiped off in stages, and the final haze is removed once the grout has set.

Why do it this way

  • Joints filled to full depth, not skimmed on the surface
  • An even line from tile to tile
  • Colour chosen with you and tested where possible
  • Aftercare advice so the grout stays looking good

Grouting: common questions

  • How long should I wait before grouting new tiles?

The adhesive needs time to go off first. The right wait depends on the adhesive and conditions. We work to the manufacturer's guidance for your job.

  • What is the difference between grouting and regrouting?

Grouting adds grout where there is none or where it is incomplete. Regrouting removes old grout that has failed and replaces it. Regrouting is the right call if the existing grout is crumbling or loose.

  • Is epoxy grout worth it?

It resists stains and water well, so it suits showers, benchtops and busy floors. It is less forgiving to apply and costs more than cement grout. We will tell you if we think it is worth it for your job.

  • Can I walk on a newly grouted floor?

Usually after a day for light foot traffic, but we give the exact cure time for the grout used.
