Tile Restore

Tiling that sits flat, lines up and is finished properly

From a single replacement tile to a whole bathroom floor, we set tiles on a well-prepared surface and finish every edge so the result looks intended.

Good tiling is mostly preparation. A tile will only sit as flat as the surface under it, and it will only stay put if the adhesive has a sound, clean base to grip. That is where we spend the first part of every job.

We lay new floors and walls, replace tiles that have cracked or lifted, and patch damaged areas so the repair is hard to spot. If something about the surface worries us, we tell you before any tile goes down.

What this covers

  • Floor tiling

Kitchens, bathrooms, laundries, entries and outdoor areas, laid to a planned layout so cuts fall where they are least noticeable.

  • Wall and splashback tiling

Feature walls, shower walls and kitchen splashbacks, set plumb and level with even joints.

  • Replacing cracked or drummy tiles

We lift the failed tile, clean out the bed and set a new one flush with its neighbours.

  • Patch repairs

Where a section has been damaged by a leak, a removed fixture or plumbing work, we rebuild the gap and tile it back in.

How the job runs

  1. 1

    Look at the surface

We check the floor or wall for movement, damp, level and old adhesive, and agree the layout with you.

  2. 2

    Prepare the base

The surface is cleaned, patched and levelled so the tiles have something sound to bond to.

  3. 3

    Set the tiles

Tiles are laid with the right adhesive for the surface and location, checked as we go for lippage and alignment.

  4. 4

    Grout and finish

Once the adhesive has gone off we grout, then finish edges and junctions with flexible silicone where tiles meet other surfaces.

  5. 5

    Clean and hand over

We clear the work area, wipe back any haze and walk you through aftercare and cure times.

Why do it this way

  • Planned layouts that avoid thin slivers at doorways and walls
  • A flat, even finish that is easy to clean

  • A clear written quote before any work starts

Tiling: common questions

  • Can you match my existing tiles?

We will always try. Where a range has been discontinued we look for the closest size, colour and finish, and we show you the options before anything is laid. A perfect match is not always possible with older tiles.

  • Do you supply the tiles?

Tell us what you would like in your enquiry and we will confirm in the quote what is supplied by you and what is supplied by us.

  • Can new tiles go over the old ones?

Sometimes. It depends on how well the old tiles are bonded, how flat they are and how much height the new layer adds at doors and fixtures. We check before recommending it.

  • How long before I can walk on a new floor?

Usually the next day for light foot traffic, but it depends on the adhesive and grout used. We give you the exact cure times for your job when we hand over.
