Sample project
Tiling a kitchen splashback and laundry floor in Glen Waverley
A bare splashback wall and a worn vinyl laundry floor were tiled with matching ceramic, finished with an even grout line.
This is a sample write-up showing how a project is described. It is not a completed customer job.
The problem
The home owners had painted plasterboard behind the cooktop that was marking easily, and a laundry floor with lifting sheet vinyl. They wanted a hard-wearing finish that was simple to keep clean.
What we did
- Measured both areas and set out the tile layout so cuts fell in the least visible places.
- Removed the old vinyl and prepared the substrate so it was flat and sound.
- Waterproofed the laundry floor and allowed it to cure before tiling.
- Set the splashback and floor tiles with consistent spacing and lippage checks.
- Grouted both areas and sealed the movement joints with flexible sealant.
The result
The kitchen wall and laundry now share a clean, matching finish that is quick to wipe and mop.
