Sample project
Siliconing a new shower screen and vanity in Essendon
A recently installed frameless shower screen and vanity were sealed with neat sanitary silicone joints.
This is a sample write-up showing how a project is described. It is not a completed customer job.
The problem
After a bathroom update, the screen and vanity had been fitted but the joints between the glass, tiles and cabinetry were still open, leaving gaps where water could get in.
What we did
- Inspected each joint and cleaned the surfaces so they were free of dust and residue.
- Checked the gap widths and fitted backing rod where the joint was deeper than needed.
- Masked the glass and tile edges to keep the finished line tidy.
- Applied sanitary silicone to the screen base, wall junctions and vanity edge.
- Tooled and cleaned up each joint, then allowed it to cure before the shower was used.
The result
The new fittings are sealed against splashing, and the joints are neat and even throughout.
