Replacing silicone around a bath and vanity in Southbank
Discoloured, peeling silicone around an apartment bath was removed and replaced with fresh mould-resistant sealant.
This is a sample write-up showing how a project is described. It is not a completed customer job.
The problem
The old silicone had gone grey and was lifting at the bath edge, with dark spots creeping into the joint. In a small apartment bathroom the owner wanted the joint reset before moisture got behind it.
What we did
- Cut out all of the old silicone and removed the residue from both surfaces.
- Cleaned and degreased the joint, then let it dry fully.
- Masked either side of the joint to keep the line crisp.
- Applied a mould-resistant sanitary silicone in one continuous run and tooled it smooth.
- Pulled the masking and left the joint to cure before use.
The result
The bath and vanity joints are clean and unbroken, and the bathroom looks noticeably fresher.
