Sample project
Repairing waterline tiles on a backyard pool in Kew
Several drummy and missing waterline tiles were replaced and the band was cleaned of calcium build-up.
This is a sample write-up showing how a project is described. It is not a completed customer job.
The problem
A section of the waterline band had lost tiles near the skimmer, and the surrounding tiles had a crusty white deposit. The exposed bed was starting to crumble at the edges.
What we did
- Inspected the full waterline band and tapped each tile to find any that had lost adhesion.
- Lowered the water level just below the repair area to allow safe working.
- Removed loose tiles and cleaned the bed back to a sound surface.
- Re-set replacement tiles with a pool-rated adhesive, matching the spacing of the originals.
- Regrouted the affected sections and cleaned the band to remove surface deposits.
The result
The waterline band is continuous again, with no exposed gaps where water could track behind the tiles.
